Failure of US-Israeli aid to Gaza NGO is by design, to enable Israel to continue starving Palestinians

There're already established NGOs which have for decades delivered aid to Gaza. But Israel claims new NGO necessary because "Hamas steals aid". Punchline: Israeli-protected thieves steal aid.

"Jake Wood, founder and executive director of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), resigned from his position on Monday.

...GHF was created earlier this year as Israel tried to advance a new mechanism for distributing humanitarian aid in Gaza, while preventing its diversion from Hamas.

Israel wanted to create a small number of distribution sites in southern Gaza where pre-selected family representatives would be able to pick up a heavy box full of food for their families in a zone secured and operated by American private contractors.

While technically an American company, GHF was established in close coordination with Israeli authorities in order to manage the new aid initiative.

...the UN and other international organizations in Gaza vowing not to cooperate with GHF, arguing that its aid initiative violated humanitarian principles by requiring Gazans to walk long distances in order to retrieve aid and limiting distribution to southern Gaza in what would forcibly displace the Palestinian population...

Wood’s resignation marks a major blow to Israel’s effort to resume aid in Gaza on its own terms, and it’s unclear whether GHF will be able to march on…”

This reeks of creating the circumstances that prevents "benevolent" Israel from letting aid into Gaza.

It's nonsense, of course. Israel controls all crossing points into Gaza, and could have long ago instructed the crossings to be opened to the hundreds of aid trucks waiting to bring desperately-needed food, water, medicines, life basics into Gaza.

Top Israeli figures have repeatedly boasted of their intent to deliberately starve-to-death Palestinian civilians in Gaza, “not a gram of food will enter Gaza”.

Now, Israel can claim it was ready to "help" but can't, since this (utterly unnecessary and highly-questionable) new "aid" organization is director-less.

The premise of Israel now allowing only this organization bring aid into Gaza is Israel's claim that Hamas steals aid coming into Gaza (a claim which Israel provides zero evidence for, like all of Israel's other claims.)

This is particularly sadistic given reports on actual aid theft being long-enabled & protected by Israel:

These groups operate under Israeli military protection, routinely looting aid convoys, especially in areas like eastern Rafah and Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom).

Abu Shabab is a known leader of armed gangs linked to ISIS and involved in looting aid under Israeli protection.

Last year, The New Arab reported that Abu Shabab, among others, was working alongside hundreds of thieves under the protection of Israeli occupation forces near the Kerem Shalom crossing, the primary entry point for aid convoys.

...Multiple reports, including from Haaretz and The Washington Post, confirm that these gangs have been seen looting in full view of Israeli forces, who neither intervene nor prevent the theft..."

As the UN has long stated, Gaza needs at least 500 aid trucks *per day*.

My note:

By the way: 500 trucks/day is actually a very small amount.

Consider that back in 2008, the genocidal Israeli sadists concocted a document calculating the bare minimum to just keep Palestinians alive, then translated that into the number of aid trucks, then whittled that number down to around 130.

That was 17 years ago, before numerous Israeli wars on the trapped population; before the duration of the all-encompassing brutal siege further starved & impoverished Palestinians in Gaza; before the 19 months of genocide.

So if you think 500 trucks is a lot—considering all means of providing food for themselves (farming, fishing, working for a living) have been destroyed by the Israeli savages—think again.

Then realize they only allowed 5 trucks in...

This latest NGO “failure” is the continuation of Israel's plan to mass starve Palestinians in Gaza to the point where they are forcibly displaced out of Gaza (which over 80% of Israelis apparently endorse), for Israel to steal still more Palestinian land.
